How do I install it?

Here are some easy steps to follow:

  • Pick a new home for your Custom Cut Out. Make sure the wall has a flat smooth surface to stick to.

  • Measure the wall. You need to be sure your Custom Cut Out will fit.

  • Make sure that the wall is clean. Take a dry cloth and wipe down the wall.

  • We highly recommend using two people for installing your Custom Cut Out. Two sets of hands are better than one.

  • Smooth it out. Take your time smoothing out the bubbles and creases. That's it, how simple was that? Enjoy your Custom Cut Out.

  • Please remember to save the installation instructions, as well as the packing tube and the liner. Should you ever have to relocate you will need these things to move your Custom Cut Out.

What if it doesn't stick right?

Custom Cut Outs is designed for clean, dry, flat wall surfaces. Have a dry, clean, flat wall you want it to stick on. If you believe you have received a defective product call our customer service team at. 1-630-570-5150.

What is it made of?

A Custom Cut Out is printed on durable vinyl and is fade-resistant. It's made of a low tack adhesive. We promise it will not damage your walls in any way.

Can any image be a Custom Cut Out?

Unfortunately not every image will make a great Custom Cut Out. If you are uploading an image, please follow the guidelines listed below. The higher the resolution on the image you submit, the better your Custom Cut Out will look. If you choose to send us an existing photograph on film for scanning, make sure that we can see the entire body and that the image was not taken from far away. If the person or thing you would like to highlight is small on the photograph, we may not be able to stretch the image into a Custom Cut Out. Custom Cut Out also reserves the right to not print a submitted photograph on the basis of content. If you submit a photograph that is questionable in size, you may receive the following notification:

  • "The file you have selected is smaller than 3MB and may not provide optimal image quality. If our technicians identify this as an issue, you may be contacted by our customer service to request an additional image or offer further options."


Your image will be accepted at that time, but our customer service staff may contact you to let you know that your image may lack enough data to stretch it into a Custom Cut Out. At that time you may be given the opportunity to submit an alternative image. If you do not want to submit an alternative image, we will credit your account.

* We require payment information prior to uploading the photo to prevent people from overloading our system with images never intended to be Custom Cut Outs.

Digital Cameras

  • Digital Cameras must have a megapixel rating of 4 or more (a minimum of 2048 x 1536 pixels). Make sure to have your camera on the highest image resolution setting possible. The higher the megapixel camera the better the image quality.

    Note:When taking pictures set digital camera to highest maximum resolution.

  • If you are not sure if your image resolution is high enough, send it our way and we will let you know, or check it here!

  • DO NOT change the resolution of your digital photos. Send us your original files.

* It all starts with the photo. The better the image quality, the better your customized Custom Cut Out will look.
** Professional photographers, take photos at the highest setting possible, we also accept RAW files!

Is Custom Cut Outs just for sports?

Absolutley not.
We do all sorts of cutouts. Military, parties, pets, cars, motorcycles, you make the call. Your Custom Cut Out can be just about anything. We encourage you to be creative.

What file formats are acceptable?

We can accept most any files, (png, pdf, tiff, jpg, eps, psd, bmp, gif, ai) to name a few.

Photo Tips

  • Take a few minutes to make sure that you submit photos that are clear, sharp and in focus.

  • Keep in mind that the better the image you provide us with, the better your Custom Cut Out will look! If the image is blurry, out of focus, that is how it will print! We suggest photos that are taken in a well-lit atmosphere, such as outside on a sunny day. Most cameras take better images in natural sunlight and produce much richer and colorful prints. Indoor images also work well, but please make sure there is a good amount of light.

  • Take your photos close up rather than using your zoom.

  • Take your photos vertically (and don't cut off the feet!)

  • The higher resolution the better!

What if I do not have a digital camera, only the actual photo? Can I still get a Custom Cut Out?

Yes and no. When you upload a photo to us we use the best technology available to scan and enhance it. We will do our best to make a quality Custom Cut Out. If our efforts fail we will notify you. Your account will be credited.

How soon can I have my Custom Cut Out?

Please remember it is a Custom Cut Out. That means it is being made just for you. It is a special order. It is not mass produced. Your Custom Cut Out or poster should arrive in 2 or 3 weeks time. Rush orders are available. Additional shipping and handling rates apply.

Will I need the liner my Custom Cut Out comes on or the shipping tube for any purpose?

Absolutely! You MUST save your Liner and Shipping Tube because you will need them to move, ship, or return your Custom Cut Out. So, be sure to Save the Original Liner and Shipping Tube.
Please note, if you need to return your Custom Cut Out, you MUST return it on the liner it came on.

How do I move my Custom Cut Out to a new location?

Identify where you want to install your Custom Cut Out, wipe the wall clean (using a dry cloth only), and then with the help of a friend carefully remove the Custom Cut Out from one wall and carry it to the new location. Follow the Installation Instructions. If you are moving it to a new location that is not within walking distance, put your Custom Cut Out back on the original liner it came with and transport to your new location.

What surfaces will my Custom Cut Out stick to?

Custom Cut Outs are intended for use on clean, dry, flat surfaces only. Attempting to place your Custom Cut Outs on a surface that does not meet those specifications may very well result in your Custom Cut Outs not sticking properly.

Will my Custom Cut Out damage my wall?

No. Custom Cut Outs are perfectly safe for walls. The special low-tack adhesive does not leave any residue and will not pull off paint so long as the paint is in good condition and isn't already peeling It's even safe to put up over wallpaper provided that the wallpaper itself adheres properly to the wall. See above for more information on the kind of walls Custom Cut Outs prefer.

Does it make a difference what kind of wall I put my Custom Cut Out on?

Yes. Custom Cut Outs need clean, smooth, dry walls. It's OK to put your Custom Cut Out over wallpaper but it has to be clean, dry, and smooth. We recommend sticking your Custom Cut Out away from direct sunlight.

How does your return policy work?

Follow these steps:

  • Call our customer service team at 1-630-570-5150. We want to hear what is wrong. Our business hours are from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday thru Friday except holidays.

  • Have your Custom Cut Outs order number on hand.

  • Select the Customer Service option to speak to an agent during our business hours to receive a Return Authorization Number.

  • All returns must have an authorization number. We will not process your return without one.

  • Place your Custom Cut Out in the package it was shipped in and clearly mark the Return Authorization number on the outside of the package. Also write the word RETURN on it.

  • We highly recommend using a traceable shipping service when returning your package to our warehouse.

What is your money back guarantee?

At Custom Cut Outs we're committed to your satisfaction. We'll gladly refund your money but here are some things you need to know.

  • The cutout must be in original condition. If the cutout is in original condition you may return it within 45 days of the delivery date for a full refund. (This is minus any shipping and handling charges).

  • Original condition is defined by: the cutout is not removed from the paper backing. If the cutout has been removed it is non-refundable.

  • Please call to inform us you intend to refund your cutout. (1-708-570-5150).

  • A customer service representative will issue you a return authorization number. Your return cannot be processed without a return authorization number.

  • Please ship it back to us in the original packing tube. Clearly write the word RETURN on the tube. Also write the return authorization number on the tube.


Damaged Products

If your order arrives damaged or if the product is defective you can return it within 30 days of the delivery date and we will refund you for the damaged or defective item or replace it at our discretion.

How do I track my order?

If you have received your UPS tracking number enter it below and we will show you the status of your shipment. The tracking number is on the email we sent you when your order shipped. It's the second email we sent you. If you prefer to track your order yourself click here to go to the UPS site and enter your tracking number there.

How long will it take to receive my Custom Cut Out?

We ship Monday through Friday except holidays.
Saturday, Sunday, and holidays are not business days. From the time we process your order until you receive it, we estimate 2 or 3 weeks. Rush orders are available upon request.

Does Custom Cut Outs ship to P.O. Boxes?

No, we are not able to ship to P.O. Boxes.
We recommend having your Custom Cut Out shipped to a work address, friend or relative if at all possible.

Is your site secure?

Our SSL certificate supports both industry-standard 128-bit and high-grade 256-bit encryption.
The actual encryption strength on a secure connection using a digital certificate is determined by the level of encryption supported by the user's browser and the server that the Web site resides on.
For example, the combination of a Firefox browser and an Apache Web server normally enables up to 256-bit AES encryption with our SSL certificates. How do I purchase a gift card?

Gift cards can be purchased on line as a regular transaction. A gift card certificate will then be mailed to yourself or the person you designate. Gift cards are sold in $50 dollar increments. (50,100,150,200 etc.) The serial number on the certificate is your order conformation number. Do not lose it, you will need it to place your order.

How do I redeem a gift card?

As you create an account to begin the ordering process you will notice a section for your gift card conformation number. In the place provided (marked gift card) insert the conformation number. A credit will be applied to your account. If for some reason no credit is applied please call customer service at 1-630-570-5150.
